    A BIT ABOUT MYSELF

    Dedicated to Wellbeing

I did my teacher training and RYT 200, with HeartSong Yoga Studio in Renfrew, ON with East To West Yoga School. This training began in 2014 and was completed May of 2016. Since then I have continued teacher training with East to West/HeartSong's RYT 500 Therapeutic Yoga Specialization. In 2017 I began my certification for Pilates On the Mat Certification with East to West. For 2019, I plan on doing Lara Heimann's LYT Level 1 training, which is an anatomy based alignment and movement yoga practice.

I am currently attending the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), therefore I am very passionate about proper alignment and anatomy.

    ABOUT MY PRACTICE

Yoga means to unite. My practice and teaching focuses on uniting the mind, body and soul. I follow a more traditional style of teaching honouring the ancient practice of yoga. Yoga comes from the ancient Vedic people. I personally enjoy studying the history and philosophy of yoga. I also like to use yoga as a healing modality for the mind and body. I find it fascinating how yoga can be used as a physical tool to work out the kinks and problems in our bodies and our minds.

Some of my mentors are Elizabeth Hagan who runs Heartsong YOGA Studio studio in Renfrew. She has taught me all about the ancient practice in its roots. Another mentor to me is Rachel Brathen, who is also known as yoga girl. I love her podcasts, her teaching style and philosophy. Furthermore, I was introduced through her to Lara Heimann who I look up to for her integration of physical therapy and yoga. In hope that I one day teach in a similar fashion.
